What is Discovering Christ?
“Discovering Christ is a seven-week evangelizing process. It is a course that provides a relational context in which members of a parish, campus ministry, etc. can bring family and friends to hear the good news and personally encounter Jesus Christ!”
In our day Jesus’ command to “go and make disciples” echoes in the changing scenarios and ever new challenges to the Church’s mission of evangelization, and all of us are called to take part in this new missionary “going forth”. Each Christian and every community must discern the path that the Lord points out, but all of us are asked to obey his call to go forth from our own comfort zone in order to reach all the “peripheries” in need of the light of the Gospel.

Join the South Hills Young Adults and Fr. Michael Ackerman for “Dinner, Drinks, and Discussion” at Pizzaz, located at 2850 Washington Road, in McMurray on Thursday, April 9, 2015. Evangelization is everyone’s job in the Church, but for young adults, it sometimes is a little tougher. Why? Join us in discussion around the topic as Fr. Mike seeks to ignite a fire in us for evangelization, using humor and stories. Fr. Mike is the Parochial Vicar of St. Mary of Assumption in Glenshaw, a graduate of Duquesne University, and former middle school teacher. Bring a friend and join us. We gather at 6:30 p.m., and our speaker begins at 7.
